EXCLUSIVE: Mrunal Thakur opens up about battling professional lows and TV tag

Mrunal Thakur is currently gearing up for the release of her film Jersey with Shahid Kapoor. The actress has been winning the hearts of the audience ever since she made her acting debut. Mrunal, who started her acting career as a television actor, made her Bollywood debut with the 2018 film Love Sonia. Her appearances in the films Super 30 and Batla House were well received by the audience. In an exclusive interview with us, Mrunal Thakur spoke about battling professional lows and the ‘TV actor’ tag.

Mrunal told Bollywood Bubble that she wants to thank the people who gave her the opportunity. Talking about the TV tag, Thakur spoke about her Love Sonia director Tabrez Noorani who picked her up from the “folder which said TV actors”. The Jersey actress said, “I want to really thank all the people, who gave me the opportunity. Who had immense faith and especially Tabrez Noorani was my director of my first movie. He picked me up. He actually picked me up from that folder which said TV actors. So, I want to say Thank You to all these directors, my people who have always prayed for me and who have always pushed me.”

The actress added, “Because there are times when you want to give up, and till today, I feel like it is very necessary for you to have people around you who are honest.”

Mrunal Thakur even spoke about battling professional lows at the start of her career and how she overcame it all. She revealed it was her parents who made her understand. The actress said, “When I was starting my career, there were times where I was not really, I was treated in a different way. I reached home and I was crying. And I told my parents that I don’t like this. They said, ‘Mrunal, think about 10 years down the line. People would look at you, so inspired that if that girl can do it, main bhi kar sakti hun (even I can do it)’.”

Speaking about Jersey, Mrunal said, “When it comes to Jersey, we all need that one push, that coach.”

Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer Jersey is all set to release in theatres on December 31, this year. The film also features Pankaj Kapur.
