The buzz around Madhu Mantena’s Ramayan trilogy has been up for the longest time. Recently, it was reported that the film is mounted on a colossal budget of over 300 crores with a lot of focus on VFX. While the speculations have been rife that Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone will play the quintessential Ram and Sita in the film, sources give us an inside detail that is sure to leave you curious.
A source tells us that Hrithik Roshan has been signed in to play Raavan in the movie, and the hunt for Ram is on. “Hrithik was looking for something challenging to portray and while Ram would have been the obvious choice, the makers and actors thought that it would be refreshing to see him play the antagonist. Hrithik was pretty kicked about experimenting,” the source added. The makers are still on the lookout to cast a well-known face for Ram while Deepika will be playing Sita in the movie. We tried reaching Madhu Mantena for a comment and are yet to hear from him. There is no official confirmation as yet.
