What was been your experience working with Taapsee Pannu for the second time in Dobaraa?
It is very easy to work with her. I think, Thappad ke, during shoot only, we kind of became friends. And that friendship kind of continued. You know how it works on a film together and the you are friends for a while and then you lose touch after that. But with Taapsee, it still lingers on and we’re still friends. We meet each other almost twice a month. She’ll come to my house to play squash. I’ll go to her house for dinner. So, it’s just easy working with her. She’s a friend, she’s a confidant. I kind of trouble her with a lot of my questions about work. She’s always there to give me advice. I found Dobaraa with her very very easy. Also because we have Anurag sir (Anurag Kashyap).
Anything you would want to share about Dobaraa director Anurag Kashyap?
He’s the most nicest person on the planet. If you meet him, one would realize how kind that man is. Being with him and working with him, it’s always an easy and happy set.

You are set to feature in a web series directed by Ashwini Iyer. Can you share a little more about your experience on the set?
It was lovely shooting with her and the entire team. Because she (Ashwini Iyer) has genuinely the nicest team. And, she being a prolific filmmaker herself it just becomes easier to work with her. Although, the shooting of the series was very harsh. We shot for like 70 days, in a chawl, inside Dharavi, and various other locations. A massive magical experience. It was a tough shoot but it paid off.
Any details you want to share about your role in the web series or the series itself?
It’s a poetic lovestory kind of thing. It’s a drama, it’s set in Mumbai. And it comes from a very edgy and rock bottom kind of place. And, it’s also going to be a little more Musical than what you’ve seen before. That is going to be interesting.

You have worked with Amitabh Bachchan for the second time, in the movie Goodbye. How was the experience?
Even after Yudh, I used to speak to him (Amitabh Bachchan) at Diwali parties and all of that. He’s always been very kind and nice. So Goodbye, I always behaved like he is my friend, and he behaved the same way. We had lunch together. Not a lot of people know about this, Mr. Bachchan has got a great sense of music. And he creates his own music by the way. So we had like a DJ Bachchan kind of night where he comes and he plays his own music. And we all partied till like about 3 o’clock in the morning, and he’s like up till 3 AM. So, we have had a great time doing that.Â

Do you have any plans of working on the OTT platform?
I have done Made in Heaven before, the first season. I’m looking forward to good scripts. But, it’s not like I’m looking forward to do anything in particular. I’m looking for scripts that are different. Something that I have delved into. The stream doesn’t matter.Â
Anything you would like to share about your upcoming projects?
So, I’ve got done with Goodbye, the Vikas Bahl film. That film is wrapped for me. Then Dobaraa is coming out. Then, I am starting two more projects, which should be announced soon. I have another film but it has not been announced yet. So, I have four releases this year.Â
