EXCLUSIVE: Saif Ali Khan to star in Imtiaz Ali’s next?

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali might have had a disappointing time at the box office in the last few years, but he’s still one of the most revered directors we have in the industry. There was buzz that Imtiaz was planning a film with Sidharth Malhotra and then Kartik Aaryan.

To set the record straight, we are the first to inform you that there are two films that the director is toying with currently. Kartik has been signed on for one of them and the film goes on floors in February but the other film – a love story of an army man – has been declined by Sidharth.

The last we got to know was that Imtiaz has started having several meetings and discussions with Saif Ali Khan for that project. Saif has always liked the director’s body of work and he has also heard the narration and showed his interest in the project.

Kareena Kapoor Khan who worked in Imtiaz’s ‘Jab We Met’ was also one of those who convinced Saif and was instrumental in setting up this meeting. Although Saif has not officially signed the film, it will only happen after he finishes work on ‘Hunter’, ‘Taanaji’ and his home production directed by Nitin Kakkar.

Interestingly, Saif has worked previously with Imtiaz in ‘Love Aaj Kal’ which also starred Deepika Padukone. So both of them coming together for another film will be a treat for their fans and followers.
