Anees Bazmee released his much-loved comedy No Entry starring Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan in the lead in 2005. The film was an instant blockbuster and over the years became a cult classic with people raving about it even today. Reports of its sequel have been doing rounds ever since then, but it never came to fruition. However, last year on his birthday, Salman Khan announced that he is indeed returning with the sequel to No Entry titled No Entry Mein Entry, and the fans have been quite excited about it since. Recently, director Anees Bazmee got into an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble where he gave some major updates about the sequel.
Speaking about what took him 17 years to come up with the sequel to No Entry, Anees says, “We weren’t able to make this film till now because the first part got so much love that even after 17 years when people see that movie today, they tell me what an amazing film I made. The repeat value of it is so much that people still remember all its scenes and dialogues. A lot of my director friends in the industry tell me that they have kept No Entry in their shelf so that whenever they feel low, they just see it to uplift their moods. That and Welcome. So, since it is loved so much, it becomes difficult to make a part 2 for that.”

The filmmaker, who recently delivered a blockbuster in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, adds, “The first 8-10 years I couldn’t even figure out what to make and how to make it. We were looking for a nice subject and I met close to 100 writers over the years who said they had an idea for the sequel, but none ever strike me as such. Then one day, we only planned something and wrote a script. We really feel that the audience will enjoy it. During the recent times, I met Salman bhai quite a few times and even he said that we should begin the film this time. So, I am hoping that it begins soon.”
There have been several speculations and reports regarding the story and characters in No Entry Mein Entry, one of them being that Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan will feature in triple roles. When mentioned, Anees denies it, giving the real update. He reveals, “It is not a triple role, it is a double role.”

Anees is a happy director getting to bring back Salman, Anil and Fardeen together, and his excitement is palpable in his voice. He shares, “There is so much love and a strong friendship between the three of them. Some time ago, there was a period when we were about to start the film, so I called up Fardeen saying apne aap ko thoda fit kar lo. So, he actually did his physical transformation in just 2-3 months, only for this film. And when he sent his pictures to me, I was really happy and impressed by him as I believe that he is quite a good looking boy and he should stay like that. Unfortunately, our film got pushed a little but on the other hand, luckily he got a few other films as well. But no matter if he is doing other films or not, he is such a good looking boy and he should stay like that.”

He adds, “As for Anil Kapoor sir, we have done 10-12 films together and we have a great equation. There is so much love and respect that he has for me and we share a comfort level that he just told me to start the film and I didn’t need to tell him much as he has that faith in me. Salman bhai also loved the film and I am sure that I will have as much fun shooting with these three as I had the first time.”

Some reports also suggest that the sequel has 10 actresses in it. However, a source close to the development exclusively gave Bollywood Bubble some new update on that. “There will actually be 9 actresses in the film, three of them will play the wives of Salman, Anil and Fardeen respectively while the other 6 will play their girlfriends,” revealed the source.
When asked if their is any truth to this number, Anees remains tight-lipped. He says, “A lot of girls are there in the film but it is too soon to talk about them. We are just waiting for Salman bhai to come back and then we will discuss with him and eventually start working on the film.”

No Entry featured Lara Dutta, Bipasha Basu, Esha Deol and Celina Jaitley alongside the three actors and it will be interesting to see which actresses take up the leading roles in the sequel. The film is anyway turning out to be one of the most exciting projects in the coming years and these updates just add up to that excitement.
