When the Vadh actor was mentioned about the time he quit Bollywood and worked at a roadside dhaba, he recollected the time and spoke at length on it. Mishra told Bollywood Bubble, “Haan woh ek phase tha mere life ka. Phir aayega bhi, ke ab kuch karte hai dusra. Hogaya. Pehle insaan ko apne andar prove karna hota hai (Yes, that was a phase in my life. It will come again. I want to do something else. First, there was a quest to prove the person inside of me).”

The Vadh actor further shared how filmmaker Rohit Shetty brought him back to the movies, when he decided to quit Bollywood.

Mishra continued, “Ab dekho, ab malum hai ki dobara matlab kuch samay bacha hai aapke paas. Sabke paas acha samay bacha ho. Toh yaar, yeh cheez mein maine zindagi de di apni. Koi yeh nahi kaha, ‘Dekho gaye the actor banne’. Woh prove kar liya(Now see, we know it again, we have only a few time left. Everyone hopefully has good time left. But, in this life, I have given everything. No one said, ‘See, he went to become an actor’. I have proved that).

He added, “Ab apne liye ek baar kuch aur toh. ‘Aare yaar, Chai ki dukaan khol li Sanjay Mishra ne. Yaar, Ganga ji ke ghat per, seedi pe. Police wale bhaga dete hai usko, lekin kya chai banata hai bhai. Aadha Rishikesh waha baitha rehta hai waha subah uski chai peene.’ Toh woh ek achievement bhi ek alag achievement hai. Toh, uski talaash hai (Now I want to do something for myself. ‘Sanjay Mishra has started a tea stall on the steps of the banks of river Ganga. The police tried to drive him off from there, but he makes amazing tea. Half of Rishikesh sits by his stall in the morning, to have his tea’. That sort of achivement is an achievement of another level. So, I am in search of that).
