EXCLUSIVE: Shriya Saran REACTS to smashing Drishyam 2 success: ‘My mother is not getting tickets’

Shriya Saran managed to win hearts yet again with her stellar performance as Nandini Salgaonkar in the movie Drishyam 2. The Abhishek Pathak directorial also features Ajay Devgn in a key role, playing the character of Vijay Salgaonkar, Nandini’s husband. As Drishyam 2 is raking a smashing collection at the box office, Shriya Saran opened up about the same.

After the release of Drishyam 2, we sat down with the actress for a candid conversation. She spoke about the Drishyam 2 success, in an interview with us. Shriya revealed that with the movie running housefull in cinema halls, even her mother is finding it difficult to get a ticket.

Opening up about the success of Drishyam 2, Shriya told Bollywood Bubble, “My mother is not getting tickets.” She added, “My didi’s are going to sit in the front row and watch the movie.”

Saran continued, “I think that is the power of Drishyam. It is a story that is very well-written. And, also if you understand. Frankly speaking, you all know what’s going to happen in the film. Like, you have an idea. How it happens is the trick. It is the magic of it all. And, the way Abhishek (Pathak) has dealt with all the characters, it is kind of beautiful.”

She further added, “With the nuances he has added, the scenes he’s written, the story he’s kind of created and the world he’s created. And, of course, when the actors, they all come together, it’s magic in itself. And that’s very different. That’s the beauty of it. And, I think, it’d really wouldn’t matter if you see the Malayalam film. It really wouldn’t matter because this one is just dealt and shown very very differently.”

Drishyam 2 was released theatrically on November 18. The film stars Tabu, Akshaye Khanna, Ishita Dutta, Rajat Kapoor and Mrunal Jadhav in key roles.
