Actress Taapsee Pannu is all set to make her big digital debut with Haseen Dillruba. We recently had a candid conversation with Taapsee, Vikrant Massey, Harshvardhan Rane, and director Vinil Mathew. From discussing how thrillers have often been an under-exposed genre in Indian films, to talking about love, obsession & the concept of arranged marriages, all four opened up about everything.
When we asked them if they believe in the idea of arranged marriage set up, to which Taapsee said, “Marriage itself is a gamble today and I feel arranged marriage is just a little bigger gamble. It’s like people who like adventures in life, they like to go for arranged marriage because it’s like you never know what’s going to come on your way. So, people who love adventure should go for an arranged marriage. I love adventure sports, I am not into life adventures, So, I will play a little safe by going into the love marriage route instead of arranged marriage. But I think great people who have succeeded in good arranged marriages, they have like big adventure streak in them and their gambling has worked.”
Though Vikrant is in a relationship currently, at some point, he had also thought of the idea of arranged marriage. He said, “With regards to an arranged marriage, there are so many things attached to it. Without sort of getting too serious, I think a lot of people are unfortunately not getting to find the right partner and in the society, we are living in, there are so many preconceived notions in regards to marriage. There are people who really romanticize the idea of arranged marriages, and there are some who romanticize the idea of love marriage. There are certain limitations also in arranged marriages.”
Harshvardhan said that he doesn’t understand arranged marriage. He is in favor of knowing someone and falling for someone.
