EXCLUSIVE: Taapsee Pannu on working with Shah Rukh Khan in Dunki: It was not even a part of my dream

Taapsee Pannu has had quite an eventful journey in showbiz. After working down South and making a name for herself there for three years, the actress made her foray into Hindi films in 2013 with Chashme Baddoor. Even after that, she had to wait for a while to get the recognition that she craved for and it eventually happened in 2016 with Pink.

Today, the actress is riding high on success and is in a very good phase of her career. Her upcoming films include Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki that stars her opposite Shah Rukh Khan, and Taapsee Pannu admits that this is something that she couldn’t even think or dream of in her life.

In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble for Her Story 3, when Taapsee Pannu was mentioned that she is living the dream of many out there with the kind of work coming her way and the stature that she enjoys in the industry, she responded saying, “Sapna bhi nahi tha because I never thought, I never dreamt. This couldn’t happen. Starring in a Rajkumar Hirani, Shah Rukh Khan film was not even a part of my dream. I was like, it’s an unreal thing. Dream mein bhi nahi aa sakti hai ye to.”

But it’s with her hard work, dedication and choices that Taapsee has reached the place that she is at today. Throughout this journey, she has never compromised on her beliefs and has always been vocal about things that matter, and today she is reaping the fruits of that perseverance.

Apart from Dunki, the actress also has Dobaara, Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan and Blurr, which also marks her production debut, and just last weekend she had the release of Shabaash Mithu, in which she played the real-life character of former Indian Women’s Cricket team captain Mithali Raj.
