Last year, the Income Tax Department searched the homes and offices of Taapsee Pannu, Anurag Kashyap and others. Now, in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap opened up about the IT Raids against them.
Talking about the Income Tax raid, Taapsee said, “Abrupt hi hota hai IT Raid toh baatake toh nahi karte kisiko bhi. Pehle bata denge toh phir kya hi fayda hai. So I don’t think bata ke hota hai, abrupt hi hota hai (IT Raids are never abrupt. If they inform you beforehand then what’s the use of it).” Anurag added, “Raids are always abrupt.” Taapsee went on to add, “You talk about the biggest of big film stars, they have seen IT Raids.” Anurag joked, “Humlog bas news mein jyada aagaye the.”
The actress continued, “I think in the society everywhere outside people started believing we have a lot of money. Technically if you see whatever assets we own or the kind of films we do…Humne kaunsa badi 100 crore ki film kari hui hai. But still now our positioning is such after that raid that people genuinely believe we have a lot of money. So we wouldn’t mind that people will think like that about us. Matlab kisko bura lagta hai ke log soch rahe hai ki mein ameer hu. Toh chalo theek hai.”
