Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte are one of the most talented actors who have created a niche for themselves in the world of entertainment through sheer hard work and perseverance. Vikrant’s transition from television to the big screen is an inspiration to many. Radhika has also left fans in awe of her acting skills time and again. The duo are now coming together for Vishal Furia’s psychological thriller Forensic. It is a remake of a popular Malayalam film of the same name. Forensic is streaming on ZEE5 from June 24.
In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble host Akash Bhatnagar, Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte opened up on Forensic and also on the era of remakes being over in Bollywood.
Speaking about the era of remakes being over, Radhika Apte said, “I have no idea, IÂ personally do feel that… uh I am sceptical of remakes but Forensic is different as it has different elements. We can say that we adapted rather than remade the film. I personally feel that the positive aspect of remaking a film is that at a certain time the films do not reach a certain audience and we are hoping that this will reach larger audiences. I also think that it is very interesting to see something and then interpret it completely on your own and have an adaptation of that. At the end of the day if it is a good film and the story is good people will watch it. That’s my basic belief.”

Vikrant said, “Yeah but I think we also fairly especially in the media, especially because of social media today. everyone really wants to jump the gun and come to a conclusion. I think we are still at a very nascent stage. A couple of films have unfortunately not done well as everyone wanted them to be. But I really do think it is very nascent, to sit back and come to a conclusion that it is so. We are in an ever-evolving business and COVID has also taught us not to plan too much. The advent of streaming platforms has completely changed the game. As I have always said that there is enough space for everyone to shine. It’s great that cinemas are back but as Radhika so beautifully put it, sometimes, unfortunately, you do not penetrate as much as you want to and with Zee coming in we have catered to more than 190 countries. Absolutely true that it is an adaptation, it’s a remake and it’s an inspired film, the title is the same. In regards to remakes are people at a saturation point? I really don’t think so yet. What I really think is that we should not jump the gun but rather wait and watch to see what’s happening. What regional cinema has done in the last year is commendable and finally, we can say that the diversity that we are so proud of we get to see in cinema today.”
