Times Now Navbharat is set to launch, Kahani Navbharat Ki, a documentary series that chronicles key moments that shaped India’s history and its evolution towards a New India. Directed by Aparna Sanyal, recipient of the prestigious National Film Award, the series is hosted by Bollywood actor, Vikrant Massey. The actor is marking his return to Television space after 8 years.
In an exclusive interview with Bollywood, Bubble Vikrant Massey shed some light on his experience of shooting for a documentary series.
He said, “It was fantastic and better than what I expected to be honest. I just thought that I am going to be a host go out there, talk about anecdotes and just try and chat with the audience. But it was far much more than what I anticipated. The amount of research that has gone into it and the amount of time that each and every single member not just the research team has put in. You know have made it such a wonderful experience for me that I can very proudly say that I am a part of Kahani Navbharat Ki.”
On speaking about a story that touched his heartstring Vikrant Massey said, “There are so many untold stories for example if I talk about, the formation of Bangladesh and the role India played. We do know some things about it but not the nitty-gritty of things. Whether it is our participation in World War II or the freedom we got in 1947, there are so many things that make me proud of the fact that I am an Indian and I belong to this proud country. There are many anecdotes that I would like to go about.‘
The thing that excites him as a performer is telling stories. “Deep down inside I am a storyteller. I love telling stories to people, speaking my mind through my work also in some way being the voice of the people who do not have the platform to do so.”
The series brings the untold stories of the often unrecognized and unacknowledged actors behind the scenes. The show is narrated by employing several elements, like sketches, animations, stylized graphics, full-frame illustrations, contemporary footage, and interviews in addition to some rare archival footage

The series does not shy away from difficult moments in history. It is an honest attempt to stay away from politicized references to the past (and present). Taking the viewers through the history of 75 years of the nation, each of the episodes in the series has an emotion outlined, which reflects further in the stories that are covered in that episode
Launching with a special curtain-raiser episode on January 26, 2022, at 11.30 am on Times Now Navbharat SD & HD, the 10-part episode series will commence from Jan 30, 2022, every Sunday at 8 pm on the channels.
