The singer recently collaborated with Jubin Nautiyal for the song Tu Saamne Aaye. But Yohanni who has now shifted base to Mumbai had to face the hurdle of language in a big way.

The Sri Lankan singer sat down for an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble and opened up on her struggle with Hindi and a funny incident with staff

She said, “The funniest incidet since my coming to India in the past six months. Since we are on that topic let me tell you that there is a lady who comes to clean my house and one day I kept my key with the next door and I told her to take the key from the neighbour. But I said, Chaku instead of Chabi and she was like kya and going on an on“.

She further added, “But I kept the phone and left. Then I was telling my manager that she was telling something, what did I do wrong? He was like it’s not Chaku but Chabi. Now I know I was telling her knife is at the next door.”

The singer also shared how the song Manike Mage Hithe changed her life, “It was very instant. I think it took a couple of months for me to really process what was happening and because everything was going so fast.  Had come to India last year for a couple of shows and then went back and then signed with T-Series and now I’m here in Mumbai.  Have moved here. So, between the song and now so much of my life has changed. I think I’m still processing everything.
