Farah Khan on flying skirt scene of Pooja Bedi from Pehla Nasha
Farah shared on Radio Nasha, recalling that Pooja Bedi, forgot to hold her skirt down during the first take. ” She had to stand on the car, and we had put her in a Marilyn Monroe-style dress. Pooja, being Pooja, is carefree, so she climbed up, and there was a big fan below with a spot boy sitting there,” Farah said. When the fan was turned on, instead of holding the skirt in place, it flew over Pooja’s head, resulting in an unexpected reveal of her thong. Farah added, ” I told Pooja that when the fan comes on, she should hold her skirt in a Marilyn Monroe pose. But the first time the fan was turned on, Pooja didn’t hold the skirt, and it flew over her head. The spot boy fainted there and that is the first time I saw what a thong looked like.”
The scene, although initially mishandled, turned out beautifully in the final version of the song. Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar was released in 1992 and the song became immensely popular. This successful debut paved the way for Farah Khan’s illustrious career as a choreographer in Bollywood. In 2004, Farah Khan made her directorial debut with the film Main Hoon Na, starring Shah Rukh Khan.
