Dilip Kumar has left for heavenly abode at 98. The actor was ill for many years now and had been visiting the hospital on and off for the last few months. On Wednesday, he breathed his last in Mumbai. His official Twitter handle confirmed the news and said, “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, a few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return. – Faisal Farooqui.” From Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn to fans, everyone has been mourning the sad demise of Dilip Kumar.
Filmmaker Farah Khan shared a heartbreaking anecdote of the hysteria she witnessed during Dilip Kumar’s wedding reception back when she was 4. Her anecdote only goes on to reveal the impact Dilip Kumar had on the generation back then and now. He was one of the most handsome stars Indian cinema has witnessed and his popularity holds no boundaries. Recounting the hysteria while paying her best tributes to Dilip Saab, Farah Khan wrote, “I must have been all of 4 yrs old whn i saw my 1st stampede.. .”

Big B wrote, “T 3958 – An institution has gone .. whenever the history of Indian Cinema will be written , it shall always be ‘before Dilip Kumar, and after Dilip Kumar’ .. My duas for peace of his soul and the strength to the family to bear this loss .. Deeply saddened.”
Dilip Kumar is survived by his wife Saira Banu. The couple had no children. RIP Dilip Saab.
