Farhan Akhtar and Arjun Rampal recall the ‘Magik’ as Rock On completes 15 years

Fifteen years ago, Farhan Akhtar took a big gamble as after proving himself in direction, he made his acting debut with Rock On. However, the gamble paid off and the film was a big hit. Over time, it became a cult classic. And not just Farhan, but the film did wonders for other people too, including actor Arjun Rampal.

On August 29, 2023 Rock On completes 15 years and to commemorate the feat, Farhan and Arjun took to social media to dive in some nostalgia. Farhan shared a collection of clips from the film, set to the music of the song Sinbad The Sailor. The actor’s curly hair and the melodious music takes you on a trip down memory lane. Along with it, he thanked the fans for keeping the ‘magik’ alive of the film. He wrote, “15 years since Magik was created. Thank you to the fans who’ve kept it alive .. Rock On!!”

As for Arjun, he used the same music to share a carousel of pictures ranging from the film, some BTS as well as promotions. In the caption, he wrote, “5 years of memories that would never fade. Adi, KD, Rob, Debbie and Sakshi. Thank you  Ritesh Sidhwani, Abhishek Kapoor the vision was legendary, Shankar Ehsaan Loy so was the music.” The film was extra special for him as it got him a National Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Rock On details

The musical drama marked Farhan’s acting debut and also featured Arjun, Purab Kohli, Prachi Desai, Luke Kenny and Shahana Goswami. Abhishek Kapoor directed the film and its iconic music was given by Shankar Ehsaan Loy. The film won many awards after its release including 2 National Awards. One was for Arjun and the other was Best feature Film in Hindi. A sequel to the film, Rock On 2, was released in 2016.
