Farhan Akhtar was asked about Sanjay Dutt when he visited Yerwada jail

Actor Farhan Akhtar has been promoting his upcoming movie ‘Lucknow Central’. As he gets locked up inside a prison in the movie, he actually went along with his teammate to Yerwada jail in Pune recently. The team spent their Independence Day at Yerwada jail. The entire star cast of the movie comprising of actors Farhan Akhtar, Diana Penty, Ravi Kishan, Ronit Roy, Deepak Dobriyal, Rajesh Sharma, Inaam-ul-Haq were present at the event, along with director Ranjit Tiwari and composers Arjunna Harjie and Rochak Kohli.

So, when the team of ‘Lucknow Central’ went to the jail, many jail inmates were interested in knowing about Sanjay Dutt’s whereabouts, as the actor had served time in the same prison. So for those who don’t know, Sanjay Dutt spent 42 months in the prison out of the five years of imprisonment. It seems like he forged a connection with the prison inmates and they miss him even after he has been released from the prison. So, the prisoners asked questions about his upcoming projects and events. This surprised the team of ‘Lucknow Central’ as they were pleased with the concern the inmates had for Dutt. Meanwhile, talking about the movie ‘Lucknow Central’, it is set against the backdrop of a jail. Farhan plays the character of Kishen Mohan Girhotra, a prisoner whose ambition is to become a sought-after Bhojpuri singer. His life turns upside down when he gets wrongly framed for a murder and is sent to ‘Lucknow Central’ jail. Directed by Ranjit Tiwari and produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Emmay Entertainment and Motion Pictures, the movie is all set to release on Sept 15, 2017.
