Farhan Akhtar finally opens up on how he broke the news of his divorce to his daughters

Farhan Akhtar is gearing up for the release of his next ‘The Sky Is Pink’ in which he is co-starring alongside Priyanka Chopra. As Farhan Akhtar plays a father in this film he recently spoke about how he broke the news of his divorce with ex-wife Adhuna Bhabani to his two daughters. He says that eventually, children understand why their parents do somethings.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, Farhan opened up about how difficult it was for him to break the divorce news to his daughters. He said, “Nothing is easy. Anything you tell your child which you think your child doesn’t want to hear is never going to be easy. The thing that your child expects you and by you doing it, you will realise that this is what you expect from them. If you can be honest with your child, they are not dumb or stupid.”

Speaking about how understanding children can be Farhan said, “They understand way more than you and I can imagine. They have a sense of energy about how their parents are feeling. As long as you don’t lie to them and you feel ‘it’s okay, I have told them, they can now do whatever’, things will come around. Eventually, a child will understand why you have done what you have done. Maybe not at the moment, but you just have to be honest with them and in turn, they will be honest with you.”

Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna Bhabani got hitched in 2000 after dating for three years. They called off their marriage in 2016 and got divorced. They have two daughters named Shakya and Akira. Currently, Farhan Akhtar is dating singer and actress Shibani Dandekar. Adhuna Bhabani has also been going steady dating Nicolo Morea.
