Recently, it was announced by the government that from May 1 onwards, everyone above 18 years will be eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine. Post that, the Serum Institute of India (SII) announced that the Covishield vaccine will be provided to private hospitals for Rs 600 per dose and Rs 400 per dose for state governments and the price for center is Rs.150. Farhan Akhtar then took to his Twitter handle to question the price disparity and he also asked why the Covishield cannot be available to everyone at the same price as that to the centre. For this tweet of him, the Toofan actor was brutally trolled.

He tweeted, “Can a spokesperson for the @SerumInstIndia please help us understand why states should not get Covishield at the same price as the centre?? And if they have issued a statement citing reasons, could someone please share a link re the same. Thank you(sic).”

Well, on Monday, the central government asked the Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech to lower the price of their Covid vaccines as the company faced lots of criticism from various states.

Now, replying to the trolls, Farhan wrote, “Oh look my dear trolls. Govt asking to lower price of vaccine as well. Hope you’ll swamp their TL with the lectures on economics you’ve been giving me. Until then mask up, stay home and wash your mouths.. I mean hands!!”

This time also he got trolled as one user wrote, “Tere liye hi kar rahe hai warna corona failayega.” Farhan then replied back, “Address bhej tera…Naya joke book bhejta hoon #socialservice.”

Such a befitting reply, isn’t it?

On the work front, Farhan will be seen in Toofan where he plays a boxer. The film is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and it also stars Mrunal Thakur, Paresh Rawal and Supriya Pathak Kapur among others.
