Around a week back, Yash Raj Film’s ‘Qaidi Band’ garnered quite a lot of praise for telling a much relevant story. It thoroughly narrated the dismay of under-trial convicts in Indian prisons and featured young debutants Aadar Jain and Anya Singh. Moving ahead, Farhan Akhtar-starrer ‘Lucknow Central’ is another film on a similar theme, wherein a group of prisoners form a music band and it leads to life-changing events.
Farhan, whose last Bollywood outing ‘Rock On 2’ was not successful at the box office, is giving his best put forward for this film. This is the first time that he plays a UP guy on the big screen and is leaving no stones unturned to look and sound authentic. (Also Read: The day when we witnessed two new sides of Farhan Akhtar…)
“What I liked about the film when I read the script, there’s even a dialogue in the film that says ‘Bande qaid ho sakte hai sapne nahi‘. This line describes the film for me really very well,” the actor said, while discussing how he accepted the project.
Apart from Farhan, ‘Lucknow Central’ features an ensemble cast including Diana Penty, Ronit Roy, Inaamulhaq, Uday Tikekar, Sukh Kunwar to name a few.
Farhan’s character is named Kishen Mohan Girhotra, an aspiring singer who is sent to jail after falsely being accused to have committed a murder. The film hits the screens on September 15, this year.
