Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boys’ is going to be another artistic collaboration between she and her brother Farhan Akhtar. Farhan, who has earlier made films like ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and ‘Don 2’, has come on board as the script writer for the film.
Earlier, Zoya’s directorial ventures ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ and ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ were also written by Farhan. Since the siblings share the same fresh approach towards cinema, it is always a delight when they together construct something creative.
‘Gully Boys’ reportedly revolves around street rappers and will feature Ranveer Singh as the lead. (Also Read: Neha Dhupia’s #NoFilterNeha with Farhan Akhtar looks like real fun!)
Interestingly, Farhan is co-producing the film as well!
On other fronts, Farhan now awaits the release of ‘Lucknow Central’. The film boasts of an ensemble cast including Diana Penty, Deepak Dobriyal, Rajesh Sharma and more. Farhan, who is playing a UP guy for the first time, essays a simple man with high ambitions who accidentally lands up behind the bars as he is falsely accused of a murder.
The film releases on September 15.
