The fans of actor Farhan Akhtar are eagerly waiting to see him back on the big screen in his upcoming film ‘Lucknow Central‘. Farhan will be seen playing the role of an aspiring Bhojpuri actor who is an ardent fan of superstar Manoj Tiwari. As Farhan will be playing a role like this for the first time, the actor went a step ahead to get into the skin of the character. It has been heard that he watched many Bhojpuri films to prep for the role.
Confirming about it, the actor’s spokesperson has quoted to a leading daily, “Films like ‘Banke Bihari MLA’ (2007), ‘Dhamaal Kayla Raja’ (2011), ‘Hamaar Devdas’ (2012) and ‘Sasura Bada Paisawala’ (2004), among others, were on Farhan’s list. Since he is playing an aspiring actor, who is a fan of Manoj Tiwari, Farhan wanted to get all the nuances right. He decided to watch the movies and understand the tonality of the language. Reports suggest, the first schedule of the film was shot at a massive set in Film City, which was wrapped up last month. The team is currently shooting in Lucknow.
Apparently, ‘Lucknow Central’ narrates the story of a few jail inmates who form a band in prison. The movie also stars Diana Penty who will be seen playing the role of an NGO worker helping the prisoners.
Produced by Nikkhil Advani, the film will mark the directorial debut of Ranjit Tiwari, Advani’s assistant on his previous projects. The movie is slated to release on September 15, 2017.
