The recently released film ‘Daddy’ based on the life of gangster Arun Gawli was all about Arjun Rampal’s performance and the way he soaked himself in the character. But there was one more star who was a part of this film and made his presence felt with a rather small role – Farhan Akhtar.
The ‘Rock On!!’ star appeared in a cameo in this film and essayed the role of Dawood Ibrahim. But not much is being spoken about him. So in a recent interaction, he opened up about his quiet role. “It was planned as a very quiet appearance. Not to be publicised at all. It was just 4 to 5 scenes and we wanted to keep it completely low profile,” quipped the actor.
Speaking about his character, he said, “I also played him as very detached, very out of it. Even when he is giving orders to his associates and subordinates, he does it in a tone of complete neutrality. As if he was beyond caring.”
He revealed how the director of ‘Daddy’ Ashim Ahluwalia had done a complete research and he followed his vision. “He did all the research on Dawood. I just went by his vision. I don’t know how my role and the film have shaped up because I haven’t seen ‘Daddy’. I’ve been too busy promoting my own film ‘Lucknow Central’.” (Also Read: Farhan Akhtar on ‘Lucknow Central’: It was easy for me to play this character)
Talking about ‘Lucknow Central’, the film is slated to release on September 15.
