Are Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar really getting married? Here’s what Javed Akhtar has to say

Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar have been grabbing eyeballs ever since they made their relationship official. The lovebirds have since made no attempt to keep their romance under wraps. Rumours of the couple taking their relationship to the next level have been rife for quite some time.

Now finally Farhan’s father Javed Akhtar has commented on these constant rumours surrounding Farhan-Shibani’s impending marriage.

The veteran lyricist-poet Javed Akhtar speaking to Times of India said, “I have just heard it from you. I was with Farhan on his birthday, which was the day before yesterday. He didn’t tell me anything about this. But you never know, children can be very secretive.”

Speaking about his son’s girlfriend Shibani, the veteran lyricist said that he has met her several times and she is a very sweet girl. Shibani and Farhan had met on the sets of reality game show ‘I Can Do That’ and rest, as they say, is history.

The ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ director was earlier married to celebrity hairstylist Adhuna Bhabani. They separated after 16 years of marriage. They have a two daughter whom they are raising together.

The latest buzz suggests that Farhan and Shibani may tie the knot before the end of this year. They are contemplating to take the plunge post the release of Farhan’s next film ‘Toofan’. However nothing’s official yet, so all we can do is wait and watch.
