Female cast for ‘October’ not yet locked, says Shoojit Sircar

The choice of films Varun Dhawan is making, tells us loud and clear that he wants to explore himself as an actor. From films with right quotient of comedy to a crime thriller like ‘Badlapur’ and also remake of an iconic flick like ‘Judwaa’, his kitty is full of amazing stuff! Shoojit Sircar’s ‘October’ is like an icing on the cake.

Sircar, who is known for his versatility and unique style of storytelling, must have found the X-factor in Varun. As soon as the latter came on board for Sircar’s film, speculations pertaining to the film’s female lead kicked off. There were rumours that ‘Piku’ actress Deepika Padukone might have joined ‘October’ cast. The director, however, goes on to dismiss that. “The female cast is yet to be locked in,” he told Mid-Day, during a conversation.

“October is an unusual slice-of-life story yet again. Like my previous work, this one, too, is an experiment. We are setting it in Delhi because that’s a world I understand well. It’s a coming-of-age story and completely character-driven. I’m glad we have an actor like Varun Dhawan on board. He is dynamic and a sucker for trying new things. Such flexible artistes add value to the plot. It is an unlikely story peppered with refreshing elements. I wouldn’t call it a romantic film, it’s a film about love,” the director went on to add.

Varun is presently working on ‘Judwaa 2′. Apart from that, he is also set to appear in Yash Raj Films’ ‘Sui Dhaga’ which pairs him opposite Anushka Sharma.
