National Award winning filmmaker Shivaji Lotan Patil’s feature film ’31st October’ featuring Soha Ali Khan in the lead will release on October 7. The film was stuck with CBFC for four months and is set to release globally after undergoing several alterations as suggested by the board.
’31st October’ revolves around the assassination of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the anti-Sikh riot that followed. Various sequences, in order to depict the reality at its best, did contain a lot of violence. CBFC had suggested total nine cuts, including minor and major ones. Going by the revising committee’s instructions, changes were made.
“We are glad that after crossing these hurdles, 31st October will be released worldwide,” Writer-producer Harry Sachdeva and co-producer Anand Prakash said.
Apart from Soha Ali Khan, the film also stars Vir Das.
