After the trailer launch of ‘Udta Punjab’, Kareena Kapoor Khan was not seen at any promotional events of the film nor did she give any interview. But, now finally, she has opened about the film and the CBFC controversy surrounding it.
When a leading daily asked Kareena if being a Punjabi she feels drugs are a menace in Punjab, the actress said, “That’s the reason I chose to do the film. I have done many films in the past where I have played a pivotal roles but I chose to be a part of this film because it is important that this message gets told which am sure is going to come on screen.”
Talking about the issues. the film is facing with CBFC, Kareena said, “I have full faith in the film, full faith in Abhishek Chaubey(director) and full faith in our fans. There are big stars in the film and all of them have a huge fan base. And the reason I did ‘Udta Punjab’ is because there is no small or big role. And even if my role is a special one in the film if we actors don’t do these kinds of films, the message (about drug menace) will never be out.”
