Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Baaghi’ was declared a blockbuster within a week of its release. Looking at the smashing response, the makers had even announced a sequel of this action drama. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala had confirmed that the sequel will go on floors in the year 2017. Adding to this, there were reports that the team of ‘Baaghi’ would remain unchanged, but apparently a new leading lady may be roped in opposite the onscreen rebel Tiger Shroff.
Rumours had it that either Kriti Sanon or Jacqueline Fernandez might replace Shraddha Kapoor. But now the latest name to add to this list is of Amy Jackson. According to a source close to the production house Sajid Nadiadwala has offered Amy ‘Baaghi 2’. Source said, “Recently, Amy was in Mumbai for the ‘Freaky Ali’ trailer launch. She has been meeting a lot of directors and Sajid Nadiadwala offered her Baaghi 2.”
Recently, at the trailer launch of her upcoming film ‘Freaky Ali’, Amy also gave a slight hint about doing this sequel when she said, “I loved doing the action in ‘Singh Is Bliing’. I am getting a lot of action-oriented roles post-SIB. I have liked two scripts — one Tamil film and one Hindi film. I will start the Bollywood film in January next year.”
With this, it can be assumed that Amy Jackson has been signed on for the project, as producer Sajid Nadiadwala is also planning to start shooting of ‘Baaghi 2’ early in 2017.
‘Baaghi’ was directed by Sabbir Khan who is currently busy with his next project ‘Munna Michael’ featuring Tiger Shroff in the lead.
