Kanika Kapoor recently tested positive for COVID 19. The singer became the first Bollywood celeb to contact the virus in India. Before Kanika could confirm the news, the rumour mill stated that Kanika had partied with around 100 people while she was infected. Multiple reports claimed she attended a party at a five-star hotel in Lucknow soon after she returned from London. Kanika was even slammed by the netizens for not practising self-isolation. Now she has been charged for negligence during the Coronavirus outbreak.
According to a report by PTI, the FIR was registered against Kanika at Sarojini Nagar police station (UP), said Police Commissioner Surjit Pandey. He further shared, “An FIR was lodged at the Sarojini Nagar police station under IPC Sections 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant).”

It is said that two more FIRs are likely to be filed against the ‘Baby Doll’ singer at the Hazratganj and Gomtinagar police stations as she had visited at least three gatherings in the areas falling under their jurisdiction.
Earlier Kanika had quashed all rumours of attending any party as she told Republic TV that she has not partied in months.
