Earlier according to a Times of India report, Kaul had revealed that he had approached Kangana last year in September to write a foreword for the Hindi version of his book. However, neither Kangana nor her sister and manager Rangoli Chandel replied to his request. So when Kangana announced the film without Kaul’s knowledge he accused her of copyright violation. The author claims he has the sole copyrights to the life story of Didda.

Now according to a report by LiveLaw, based on Kaul’s complaint, on March 9 the Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Bandra ordered the city police to file an FIR against Kangana. The Khar police station has now registered an FIR under 156 (3) CrPC against Ranaut and others.
