As we know, the Kapoor clan originally hails from Pakistan. After the Indian-Pakistan partition, legendary actor Prithviraj Kapoor moved to India with his family. The Kapoor’s owned a huge Haveli in Peshawar, Pakistan. Raj Kapoor was born in this Haveli whereas his brothers Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor were born here in India.
If we dig out the history, the Kapoor sold off their ancestral’s property to a resident of Peshawar. This Haveli is one of the most iconic places in the entire Pakistan in the remembrance of the Kapoor dynasty. But, recently we came across a news which informed us that the new owner has carried out the demolition process of this iconic Haveli. It was only after the intervention of police pushed by the officials of archeology directorate of Pakistan, this demolition came to a halt. It is a historic place and carries an archeological importance. We have now heard that an FIR has been lodged against the owners of Raj Kapoor’s birthplace. This FIR has been filed for trying to damage the Haveli which holds a position of a national heritage site.
The demolition of this Haveli was protested by the masses as well. To this Rishi Kapoor had sent out a Thank you tweet. He said,
Thank you for your gesture but that property belongs to the Pakistani Govt.and it is entirely up to them to decide. https://t.co/kP79vcPnkT
