Fox Star clears the air about coming on board for Sanjay Dutt biopic with a whopping amount

There were reports that Fox Star Studios has come on board for Sanjay Dutt biopic and have paid a whopping amount of Rs 180 crore. However, putting a rest to all the rumours, the production house has come out and clarified that the amount mentioned is inaccurate.

A source had also quoted to DNA, “The film’s profits will be shared 85-15. While Hirani will keep 85 per cent of the profits, the studio will get a mere 15 per cent.”

However, a spokesman of Fox Star Studios told Hindustan Times, “The report that has appeared today about the cost and nature of the deal for the untitled Sanjay Dutt biopic is inaccurate. Fox Star Studios, Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra have got into a three film deal which includes the Dutt biopic & Vidhu’s directorial , & a third film – the details of which will be announced later.”

“Importantly, it is the start of a strategic relationship & this deal encompasses the worldwide theatrical rights, satellite & rights for Hotstar. The movie which stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role is slated to release in March next year.
