Few more hours to go, and the entire world will celebrate the power and contribution of women. However, even though it is the year 2016, women are still struggling to find their own stand in so many spheres. A life filled with confidence, independence and dignity is what every woman (and probably every man too) dreams of. In that context, Sunny Leone is one woman who can inspire many.
From being an adult film star to establishing herself as a Bollywood actress, Sunny’s journey has been an uphill battle. However, in the process, she has always handled haters with grace, shrugged off all humiliations with a smile and emerged victorious. In a recent interview with Times Of India, Sunny stated why she considered freedom of speech as a catalyst to the progress of women.
“Women are often labelled for the choices they make. I think that freedom of speech is the freedom to live. It also means in doing what you think is right for you. If you are not stealing, cheating, physically or verbally hurting someone, why can’t you do what you want? I do believe that if a woman feels like wearing a bikini or a short skirt, then she should wear one. Own it, be it,” she said.
We couldn’t agree more. Here’s hoping the day would arrive soon when women won’t be judged for making and standing by their personal choices!
