Since its release, the Anil Sharma directorial has been winning hearts. From Sunny-Ameesha’s performance to dialogues and songs, Gadar sequel has been making headlines for multiple reasons.

Speaking of the songs, Main Nikkla Gaddi Leke and Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava from Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, were recreated by Mithoon for Gadar 2. Uttam Singh, who had composed the original hit songs for the first part, recently accused Gadar 2 makers of using his work in the sequel without his permission.

Now, in an interview with Times of India, Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma reacted to Uttam’s allegations and said, “I showed Uttamji all the songs. Mujhe hairani hai ki unhone ab aisa statement diya hai (I am shocked he gave such a statement). Technically, the rights were with the label. Mera aur Uttamji ka dil ka Rishta hai aur yeh sab sunkar mujhe bahur hairani hai (We have a close relationship and I am shocked at hearing what he has said). I still can’t believe it. Now that I know about this, I will definitely speak to him.”

Uttam Singh’s allegations against Gadar 2 team

For the unversed, Uttam Singh earlier told Amar Ujala, “They didn’t call me for Gadar 2 and I don’t have the habit of calling and asking for work. They have used two of my songs in the film and I have also heard that they have used the background music that I composed. They should at least have the etiquette to ask me once and talk to me before using my songs in the film.”

Sunny, Ameesha and Utkarsh Sharma starrer Gadar 2 is ruling hearts, as well as the box office. The film has crossed Rs 400 crore mark and is slowly inching closer to Rs 500 crore. Sunny and the entire team of Gadar 2 are celebrating the film’s success.
