Gadar 2: Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer sells over 30000 tickets in advance booking

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar: Ek Prem Katha released in 2001 and went on to achieve cult status. And now the much-awaited sequel Gadar 2 is all set to hit the theatres on August 11. As the excitement for the film is already sky-rocketed, the advance bookings for the film is in full swing. It began a few days ago, and now the first day approx figures are out and it has definitely surprised us.

As per reports, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer has so far sold over 30000 tickets tn its advance bookings. Looking at the kind of response the trailer and songs are recieving so far, it is expected that the film might record an opening of around Rs 25 crores. Probably, because of the nostalgia vibe, the film is expected to perform well in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

To note, Gadar 2 will be locking horns with Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam starrer OMG 2 at the box-office. And despite advance bookings happening at the same time, Gadar 2 is leading when it comes to collection. Looking at the kind of response and impact first installments of both the films have on audience, it will be interesting to witness which film manages to rake in more collection.

About the film

The trailer of the film was unveiled on 26 July 2023. While Ameesha Patel will be reprising the role of Sakina, Sunny Deol will be seen as Tara Singh. In first part, he crossed borders and went to Pakistan to get back his wife Sakina. But this time, he have to defy all odds for their son Jeete. Directed by Anil Sharma, the film also stars Utkarsh Sharma and Simrat Kaur.
