Gangubai Kathiawadi Song Jab Saiyaan: Alia Bhatt-Shantanu Maheshwari’s innocent romance blooms in this soul-stirring ballad

The second song from Gangubai Kathiawadi has been dropped today. It is titled Jab Saiyaan. The romantic ballad features Alia Bhatt and Shantanu Maheshwari. With the film, Shantanu is making his Bollywood debut. He is playing Alia’s lover as the song suggests. The melodious song is crooned by none other than Shreya Ghoshal. It instantly tug at our heartstrings as the lyrics are by AM Turaz and is composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The song shows the innocent romance blooming Alia and Shantanu’s characters. In one of the clips, Shantanu is seen taking measurements of Alia. So, apparently, he is playing a tailor.

Sharing the soul-stirring song on social media, Alia wrote, “Unfolding the cards of love! Bringing to you a piece of Gangu’s heart, introducing @shantanum07.”

The first song Dholida is already a hit and it’s a peppy number that reminds us of Bhansali’s previous movies’ songs. Well, with Jab Saiyaan, Shreya has once again touched our heart. In a statement, she said, “Jab Saiyaan is one of the most different compositions by Sir. It’s always a learning experience for me everytime I work with him. 20 years of my musical career and I have to thank him for believing in me and giving me my debut. He’s a magician who truly understands the art of filmmaking and music. I am so happy that I am a part of his Gangubai Kathiawadi journey as well. Gangubai Kathiawadi is set to hit the theatres on February 25. It also stars Ajay Devgn, Seema Pahwa and Vijay Raaz in pivotal roles.
