Ganpati Bappa was welcomed by devotees with love and affection on Ganesh Chaturthi. Like every year, people all across India joined in the merriment as they hosted the Lord. Finally, the day arrived when they bid an emotional adieu to the elephant God amid chants of Ganpati Bappa Morya.
However, post the visarjan, beaches and rivers across the nation are littered with broken pieces of the idol and many other things. Like every year, organisations step forward to clean the beaches of Mumbai and they are joined by students and even Bollywood celebs..
This year we had Shahid Kapoor, Randeep Hooda and many more doing their bit for the environment.
Shahid Kapoor, joined the citizens at Juhu Beach and helped them clean the beach. He supported the beach clean-up initiative.

If Shahid was there at Juhu beach, Randeep arrived at Versova beach to help individuals and Khalsa Aid volunteers clean up after the Ganpati Visarjan.
He shared photos and videos from the clean-up drive on his Instagram handle and captioned the series as, ““The world will change by your example not your opinion” applause for @afrozshah_ and #VersovaBeach volunteers for the inspiration and the opportunity to be able to help the #environment hands on and gratitude to the ever ready @khalsa_aid volunteers “Seva naal Meva.”

Not only celebs but Viacom18, along with 700 student volunteers, associated with the Children’s Movement for Civic Awareness (CMCA), supported the city civic authorities by organising a clean-up drive across major beach promenades in the city as part of its Chakachak Mumbai initiative.
