Gauahar Khan seems to have landed in trouble after an FIR was filed against her by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for flouting the Covid protocol. The actress had allegedly tested positive for Covid-19 and still stepped out to shoot when she was asked by the civic body to quarantine.
Following the FIR, now the actress will also be banned by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). BM Tiwari, president of FWICE, said in an interview that it was a very irresponsible act by Gauahar and that she not only risked her life but others who were on the set.
Tiwari told ABP News, “It was highly unprofessional, non-cooperative and irresponsible of Gauahar Khan to not follow BMC’s guidelines after testing positive COVID-19. She should have followed the rules to made sure that she stays healthy and doesn’t risk others’ lives. Some of the biggest actors and filmmakers have been following these rules to make sure everybody is safe, and she was expected to do the same.” Now FWICE has decided to ban Gauahar for two months said the president.
However, contrary to the reports, Gauahar’s team had issued a statement and clarified that the actress has tested negative for Covid-19 and that she is abiding by all the rules as a responsible citizen. The statement read, “Requesting all the media houses to not indulge in speculation and respect Gauahar’s emotionally lowest low time as she’s just lost her father 10 days ago and she’s going through everything that is expected from her by the BMC. So with folded hands, we want Gauahar’s time to herself, respectfully, and let her heart heal in this mourning time.”
