Riteish Deshmukh recently marked his directorial debut with Ved which also stars wife Genelia alongside him. The actor recently opened up about she motivated him to direct the film.

Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh are a much-loved couple not only in Bollywood but also on social media. They never fail to amuse their fans with their cute chemistry. The actors never shy away from expressing their love and admiration for each other. Recently, their chemistry in Ved made everyone fall in love with them all over again. And now, an adorable revelation by Riteish proves what makes Genelia a perfect partner.

With Ved, Riteish Deshmukh dabbled in the directorial space. Talking about how wifey Genelia supported him, the Masti actor gushed, “When we discussed making a movie, Genelia suggested that, ‘why don’t you try your hand in direction’. I approached three filmmakers, but they were all busy, leaving us with little choice but to work on the script for a year, and thus I took the decision to direct the film.”

Riteish continued, “For the past four or five years I was thinking of directing a film but it was not an easy decision being an actor. There is a pressure that everyone would be judging me as a director. But Genelia convinced me. So, Genelia played an important role in making me a director.” The Ved actress added, “I always knew that he can be a good director. Moreover, he always wanted to try his hand at direction. Though, we never know when it will happen. However, I am happy that I became an actor for his directorial film.”

Genelia had taken a break from her acting career to take care of her sons Riaan and Rahyl. During an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Genelia cleared the air about Riteish being the reason of her quitting acting. The Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na actress told us, “People say what they want to say but the truth of the matter is that I decided. To date like people say ‘Why don’t you do so much more work?’ I don’t feel I can do so much work but I feel I still enjoy that whole part of being with my kids.”
