Get ready for the next part of ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’

After the success of ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ part 1 and 2, the makers are now ready for the third instalment of the film. However, it won’t be titled as ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur 3’. It will be titled as ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur 1.5’.

Zeishan Quadri, the writer of ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, has started his research on the film. Last year, in September, Anurag Kashyap had hinted that there was going to be a sequel to the first two movies and instructed Quadri to write a plot. However, the third instalment won’t be directed by Anurag, it will be helmed by Zeishan.

Zeishan, who belongs to Wasseypur himself, said, “I came home when Ramzan began. Festival par ghar aana bhi ho gaya aur film ke liye research bhi. I will be spending a few weeks here and finalising the plot and characters while I’m here.”

Explaining about the film, he said, “It’s not a sequel or a prequel. If I have to give it a term, I’d call it a mid-equal (laughs). It will have the same timeline and setting as the first two films. Which is why we aren’t calling it part 3 but part 1.5. It will tell a parallel story between the two films.”

When he was asked if the film will have familiar faces, Zeishan said, “That’s being worked out. You might see some characters from the first two films, but it will be a new storyline.”
