After 20 years, Salman Khan’s iconic comedy film ‘Judwaa’ is set to have a remake. Varun Dhawan is rightly the most deserving person among the new lot to to step into Salman’s shoes, and we are elated to see him in a double role soon!
Among actresses, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapse Pannu will be essaying Karisma Kapoor and Rambha’s characters respectively. Given how ‘Judwaa’ enjoys the stature of a cult film, it is not easy to follow into the footsteps of these seniors. Jacqueline, on that note, says it felt nervous and excited at the same time.
“This was a very very special as well as difficult film for me. Because the ‘Judwaa’ of 1997 which was directed by David Sir had Karisma Kapoor who’s part I am playing. The pressure was so high because she is such a fantastic actress and she did so well and so much justice, they all made the film so cult,” she said. When asked how she prepared for the film, Jacqueline said, “Well I actually watched ‘Judwaa’ quite a few times and I think that just gave me a lot of inspiration. I think when you have to reprise someone’s role you also have to make sure that not only you do justice to it but also try to bring your own take or your best in it as well.”
Moviebuffs of 90s will know what a talented dancer karisma was. She brought a different energy every time she shook a leg. We are to see if Jacqueline can do the same!
