Gippy Grewal’s Bollywood directorial debut, ‘Dare and Lovely’ to star Taapsee Pannu

Power-house performer Taapsee Pannu is all set to reunite with her ‘Piku’ co-star Amitabh Bachchan in Sujoy Ghosh’s revenge drama, ‘Badla’. This film will be produced by Shah Rukh Khan, Sunir Kheterpal and Akshai Puri.

After this revenge drama, Taapsee will be collaborating with Sunir Kheterpal for a rom-com which will be helmed by none other than Punjabi singer, songwriter, actor and filmmaker Gippy Grewal. This film is tentatively titled ‘Dare and Lovely’.

Gippy has previously directed a Punjabi film ‘Ardaas’ which released in the year 2016. Impressed by his direction, the makers of ‘Dare and Lovely’ offered him to direct their film as well. A source close to the development was quoted in Mumbai Mirror as, “The film is set in Punjab with Taapsee playing a girl searching for her roots. She heard the script a few months ago and loved the subject. Meanwhile, the search for the leading actor for this rom-com is still going on. In Bollywood, Gippy was last seen in the Farhan Akhtar starrer ‘Lucknow Central’.

Taapsee Pannu is currently gearing up for ‘Soorma’, which is a biographical sports drama film based on the life of hockey player, Sandeep Singh. In ‘Soorma’ the actress will be seen opposite actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh. 

Apart from this film, the ‘Judwaa 2’ actress will also feature in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Manmarziyaan’, alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Vicky Kaushal.
