Actor Govinda who was one of the leading actors in Bollywood has now joined politics. On Saturday, Govinda joins hands with Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and becomes a part of Shiv Sena. His political comeback was announced ahead of the Lok Sabha elections which will be held in April 2024. As he begins the second innings, Govinda reveals that he is back after years and shares Shiv Sena’s clean aura inspired him.
According to ANI, the Hero No 1 actor said, “I’m back (in politics) after a 14-year-long ‘vanvas’ (exile).” He further revealed what he and the party aspires for the state. “The clean aura (of Shiv Sena) inspired me. I have always said that PM Modi is a very person. We have seen the same level of progress here (in Maharashtra) in the last 2 years, as we have seen in the country in the last 10 years. We will focus on the beautification of the state and the growth of art and culture,” Govinda told the news agency.

“I’m joining Shiv Sena and it is a blessing of God. I thought I would not enter politics again,” Govinda said.
Govinda makes his comeback to politics after a hiatus. Earlier, he was a member of the Parliament of India from 2004 to 2009. As an Indian National Congress party member, he was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP). Now, he has joined the Shiv Sena party after he once said “It was a big mistake to join politics, was never my cup of tea” in 2015.
