Popular actor Govinda recently faced the ire of netizens after his tweet on Haryana Communal Violence went viral. In the tweet, the actor lashed out at Hindus who looted a Muslim man’s shop. However, his opinion didn’t go down well with netizens as they felt he is criticizing Hindu’s. A few moments later, the tweet was deleted and even his account was deactivated. But now the actor has issued clarification that his account is hacked and the tweet was not posted by him.

Govinda has now shared a video on Instagram and said that he is not active on Twitter and has not used the social media platform since several years. Revealing that his account has been hacked, he stated, “Please do not attribute Haryana’s tweet to me. I have not done this. Somebody has hacked my account. I’m complaining to cyber crime now. I will look into the matter.”
The caption of Govinda’s post read, “I would like say that my Twitter account has been Hacked so please do not attribute the Haryana tweet to me. I have not posted it.”
As soon as he dropped the video, some of his fans came out in his support. While one user commented, “Govinda sir respect button on“, another user wrote, “Aap Hero No 1 the, ho, ar gamesha rahoge love u my 1st no favorite hero”.

Govinda’s Twitter account has now been deactivated. However, screenshots of his tweet went viral on social media platforms. The tweet read, “What have we come down to? Shame on the people who call themselves Hindus and do such things. Aman aur shanti banaye, hum democracy hai, autocracy nahi!”
