Bollywood’s iconic actor-director duo Govinda and David Dhawan have tickled our funny bones with movies like Coolie No.1, Hero No. 1, Partner, Shola Aur Shabnam and others. However, after Do Know Disturb in 2009, they have not collaborated. Govinda confirmed having a fallout with David Dhawan after the director cast Rishi Kapoor in Chashme Baddoor. Years after the feud, earlier this month, Govinda posted a picture with David confirming they had buried the hatchet. Now, in an interview, the actor confirmed ending the cold war with David.
Govinda Confirms Patching-up with David Dhawan
In an interview with a news portal, Govinda shared, “I am glad people still feel that we should work together. Yeh unka pyaar hai. Our patch-up had already happened. This was our second meeting. It was a Diwali bash where we ate good food and had a great time. We don’t believe in raking up the past. Why mull over it? That’s not necessary. Let bygones be bygones. Filmy talk wasn’t a priority, but when that happened, we only spoke about the happy memories and those were plenty,”

Talking about Govinda’s post, he shared a pic with David Dhawan from Ramesh Taurani’s Diwali bash. He captioned, “80s aur 90s mein meri do biwiyaan thi. Ek Sunita aur ek David!”
What went wrong between Govinda and David Dhawan?
In 2015, Govinda had announced that he had distanced himself from his longtime collaborator Dhawan. “No, I don’t want to work with David Dhawan as he didn’t stand by me during my bad patch,” he was quoted saying a news portal.
The actor even opened up about the rift last year and confirmed that he initially pitched Chashme Baddoor to David Dhawan. However, he went on to make the movie with Rishi Kapoor that left Govinda miffed. The actor even said that when his secretary called David after he left politics, he heard him saying, ‘Chi-Chi (Govinda’s nickname) is questioning a lot. I do not want to work with Govinda anymore. Tell him to do some small bit roles.’
