This Zoya Akhtar directorial revolves around the lives of street rappers in Mumbai. Reportedly, it is being said that ‘Gully Boy’ is loosely inspired by the life of rapper Vivian Fernandes popularly known by his stage name Divine. ‘Gully Boy’ is bankrolled by Zoya Akhtar’s Tiger Baby and Excel Entertainment productions.
Earlier, announcing the film’s release date, Alia had posted the following picture on her Instagram handle:

This is the first time that Ranveer and Alia will be sharing screen space in this film. Interestingly, the film also stars Kalki Koechlin and television actress Pooja Gor. Looking at the stellar star cast of this film, we can say that this one is going to be an interesting watch.
The 69th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival will run from February 7 to 17, 2019. The festival will open with ‘The Kindness of Strangers’ and apart from these films, entries from Austria, Germany, France, Turkey and Canada have been invited to participate in the film festival.
