Hansal Mehta’s ‘Aligarh’ which had released last year was one of the most critically acclaimed films of 2016. However, the movie has not received a single National Award and director Hansal Mehta is quite disappointed with it.
The director took to Twitter to share his views on his film not winning a National Award. Along with a note, he tweeted, “Am getting calls asking me if Aligarh was entered for the National Awards and if i was disappointed with the..”
The filmmaker later tweeted that he has felt disappointed personally and it is not directed to anyone else. He tweeted, “When I expressed disappointment about the National Awards it was personal and not directed at anybody. I would..”

However, we too don’t agree with Priyadarshan that homosexuality is not a social issue.
