Hansal Mehta shares Manoj Bajpayee was a ‘pain’ on the sets of Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar, says, ‘Everyone used to run away from him’

Hansal Mehta is one of the most renowned filmmaker in Bollywood. From Aligarh, Shahid, Omerta, Scoop and many more projects, Hansal Mehta has earned praise for the same. Recently, Hansal Mehta opened up about his working with Manoj Bajpayee in 2000 in Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar!! The filmmaker recently recalled how it was to work with the actor.

Hansal Mehta recalls working with Manoj Bajpayee

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta was a part of the year-end roundtable held by Cinema Express. He expressed working with actors during the conversation and said that it is about the ‘connection’ one feels. Hansal Mehta opened up about working with Manoj Bajpayee in the comedy movie and revealed that the actor had many mood swings. “It’s about the connection that you feel. Manoj has major mood swings. We made Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar!! in 2000, and he was a pain in that film,” he recalled. 

Speaking of Manoj, Hansal said, “Manoj has major mood swings. We made Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar!! in 2000, and he was a pain in that film.” Stating that the actor is a nice guy at heart, the filmmaker said, “But at heart, he’s a nice guy. He’s not a bad person. You get that vibe. When we were working together, I used to get very irritated. I would ask, ‘Manoj, why are you behaving like this?’ That was the time when Manoj would take the character and just go. I don’t know how he decided that the character should be irritable, but he thrust it on everyone. Everyone used to run away from him”

Hansal Mehta on working with Kareena Kapoor in The Buckingham Murders

Meanwhile on the workfront, Hansal Mehta is looking ahead for the release of Kareena Kapoor starrer The Buckingham Murders. The Buckingham Murders marks the first collaboration between Hansal Mehta and Kareena Kapoor. Speaking with Mid-Day, the filmmaker had opened up about working with Kareena. He said, “It was an absolute joy to work with her. She is such a good actor. One thing I can say is you will see a new Kareena in the film. We had a very good time shooting the film. With her, it’s the same kind of chemistry that I have with Rajkummar, Pratik, Mohammed Zeeshan (Ayyub) and Karishma (Tanna).”

On the other hand, Manoj Bajpayee is awaiting the release of Killer Soup with Kokona Sen Sharma.
