EXCLUSIVE: Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor on working with Anil Kapoor in Thar: It took time to convince dad to come onboard

Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor was recently seen in the movie Thar in which he shared screen space with his father Anil Kapoor. Before that, Harsh was seen with Anil also in Netflix’s AK VS AK. Recently, in an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Harsh opened up about working with his father and how it took quite some time for the Malang actor to be convinced to come onboard.

Harsh told Bollywood Bubble, “This film has been quite a long journey, I first met Rajan in March 2018 and now here we are in May 2022 so it has been four years now to make this dream a reality. I spent some years with Raj before dad came on board because we were trying to pitch this film around.”

He further continued, “I remember Fatima was offered the film even before dad was there, first when there was another producer when we had done the test shoots- that time. It took time to convince dad first to come on board and before that, we had already started discussions with Netflix while we were making AK Vs AK and they had liked the test shoot that we did. It’s been a really cool journey, a lot of hard work, lot of perseverance, a lot of doubt also.”

The Ray actor further said that wanted to use his privilege to give an opportunity to a new director who has an inspiring vision, “Sometimes you feel like you know, ‘I’m trying to do this crazy thing, it’s all in my head’. But this is all for Raj and it is all his vision, it’s a director’s medium. What better than to use one’s privilege in a way an opportunity to give a young director a voice and yes so he’s not only a very inspiring director but also a fantastic human being.”
