After delivering a phenomenal performance in his last film ‘Rangoon’, the fans and moviegoers are eagerly waiting for actor Shahid Kapoor’s next release that is ‘Padmavati’. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, this period drama will be the first time when the actor will be teaming up with the filmmaker. Many would be aware that filmmaker Bhansali is fond of repeating his actors, be it Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan or Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. After working with Shahid in ‘Padmavati’, there were reports stating that the filmmaker is keen to cast him yet again for his next film titled ‘Tuesdays and Fridays’, a light-hearted romantic comedy.
But, Shahid recently rubbished all these reports. The actor has revealed that he hasn’t signed anything after ‘Padmavati’. He has quoted to a leading agency, “I have not signed anything after ‘Padmavati’ and it isn’t a thing to worry about. You should only worry when you are not doing a good film. It’s ok to wait and do good movies. I want to be associated with films that have good content and are entertaining at the same time.” [sic] (Also Read: Broccoli, kale, spinach: Shahid Kapoor’s diet plan for ‘Padmavati’ is a gruelling one)
Further, when asked about signing ‘Tuesdays and Fridays’ with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, he said, “I read about it. But I haven’t signed anything after ‘Padmavati’. So wait for an (official) announcement.” [sic]
On ‘Padmavati’, Shahid said, “I am not supposed to talk much about the film. All I can say is it’s an amazing cast and it is going to be a spectacular visual experience. I am having an amazing time on it. Wait for it, it’s coming in November.” [sic]
Shahid Kapoor will be seen playing the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh with Deepika Padukone playing the titular role and Ranveer Singh as Sultan Alauddin Khilji.
The film is slated to release on November 17, 2017.
